The ACEM (Sarawak Branch) was invited by the Department of Drainage and Irrigation Sarawak (DID) to attend the Stakeholder Engagement Session on the “Sarawak Urban Stormwater Management (SUStoM) Guideline.” The meeting was chaired by Ir. Law Wee, Deputy Director of DID Sarawak, with closing remarks by YB Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Sarawak, and Datu Ir. Ts. Ahmad Denney bin Haji Ahmad Fauzi, Director of DID Sarawak. The participants included representatives from DID HQ, DID Divisional offices, L&S Sarawak, local councils, Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP) Sarawak Chapter, Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia Sarawak (PAMSC), ACEM Sarawak, and Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA). Ir. Ong Chet Yun and Ir. Syed Muhammad Zabeed bin Syed Zakaria represented ACEM Sarawak Branch at the meeting. The meeting discussed the challenges facing developers in compliance with SUStoM and proposals from SHEDA to facilitate the SUStoM submissions.
