The presidential ceremony set a dignified tone, followed by a keynote speech from the Deputy Minister of Works, who underscored the importance of consulting engineers as key partners in Malaysia’s infrastructure development and urban transformation.
Honouring Excellence in Engineering
The highlight of the evening was the ACEM Engineering Awards 2025, which recognised outstanding consulting engineering projects in both infrastructure and buildings. The awards served as a testament to the profession’s dedication to innovation, quality, and impact.
Alongside the project awards, Dato’ Ir. Dr. Dennis Ganendra, CEO of Minconsult Sdn. Bhd., received the Outstanding Consulting Engineer Award, celebrating his exemplary leadership and contributions to the profession.
Two esteemed figures, YBhg. Datuk Wira Ir. Roslan bin Ismail, Director General of JKR Malaysia, and YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Sazali bin Harun, Director General of the Malaysian Highway Authority were conferred the ACEM Honorary Membership for their service and commitment to the engineering community.
A special moment of the evening was the presentation of the Long Service Award to Ir. Lee Heuk Ping and Ir. Lou Chi Tong, both have been loyal members of ACEM since 1991. This award recognised not only their long-standing membership but also their dedication and contributions to the growth of the consulting engineering fraternity over more than three decades.
A Night of Fellowship
Guests enjoyed a sumptuous dinner while being entertained by Malaysia’s very own Harith Iskander, whose humour added laughter and warmth to the night. The evening concluded with further socialising and photo opportunities, reflecting the vibrant community spirit within ACEM.
