The annual ACEM Forum 2026 was held on 16 April 2026, featuring three speakers and drawing 63 participants. The session was moderated by Ir. Ahmad Masyhur b. Jahaya, with welcoming remarks by ACEM President Ir. Anuar bin Mohd Aris.

Ir. Shah Izzni Talif bin Mohd Adnan kicked off the session with a presentation on “AI and Engineering” where he gave a recent update in the AI world. Ir. Shah did a quick brief on how to run an LLM locally and at the same time highlighted the frustration of using simple LLM models in performing simple engineering calculations. Ir. Shah stressed learning and observations in application of AI practices in engineering.

The second presentation was delivered by Ir. Amirul Hisham Hj. Ismail and Ir. Arul Hisham b. Abdul Rahim of AHAR Consultants PLT. The session highlighted key industry matters affecting consulting engineering firms, including the Consultancy Survey 2023, ACEM Salary Survey 2024, the proposed Scale of Fees (SOF), and issues related to Clause PK 3.2, together with possible solutions. During the session, Ir. Anuar also encouraged participants to support future survey initiatives.

The final presentation was delivered by Mr. Jeremy Leow from Chubb Insurance Malaysia Berhad, who spoke on “PI Policy Walkthrough and Claim Examples”. His session provided participants with a useful overview of professional indemnity policy coverage, along with practical claims scenarios to strengthen understanding of the subject.

The forum concluded successfully, providing participants with valuable insights on current industry developments, emerging technologies, and professional practice.
