Ms Thisha Gunasilan presenting her lecture

The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) in partnership with the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has recently introduced e-Invoicing in Malaysia, with the first category of taxpayers going ‘live’ on 1 August 2024. The aim is to propel Malaysia’s digital economy and enhance tax administration, with all businesses mandated to be e-Invoicing ready by 1 July 2025.

ACEM in collaboration with Andersen Tax Services Sdn Bhd organised a webinar on e-invoicing for members on 29 August 2024. The webinar attracted 165 participants from member firms. Key speaker was Ms Thisha Gunasilan, Managing Director of Tax, who brought over 17 years of professional experience in managing tax engagements across diverse industries. She specializes in tax planning, structuring, handling tax disputes, and applications for tax incentives, with active involvement in e-Invoicing assignments. Thisha is a regular speaker on direct and indirect tax matters at external seminars and contributes to various publications.

The webinar covered key features and benefits of e-Invoicing, explored its impact on businesses, outlined crucial steps and considerations for implementation, and engaged participants in an interactive Q&A session to address their queries and concerns.
