Engagement Session with SAMUDAH on Wayleave Coordination Challenges & Proposed Solutions

On 22 April 2025, the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (Sarawak Branch), led by Chairman Ir. Rudy Zulfika bin Yusof, participated in an engagement session with the SAMUDAH Secretariat at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya, Kuching. The session focused on discussing ongoing challenges related to wayleave approvals for utilities installation within the roads right-of-way.

The meeting was chaired by Economic Planning Unit (EPU) Sarawak, and attended by representatives from various government agencies, including:

• Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak
• Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Sarawak
• Public Works Department of Sarawak
• Department of Irrigation and Drainage Sarawak
• Department of Rural Water Supply Sarawak

This engagement reaffirms ACEM Sarawak’s commitment to collaborative problem-solving and streamlined project delivery between the engineering community and government stakeholders.
