The one-day course on LiDAR Technology and its applications in engineering, held on 13 August 2024 at the IEM Sabah Training Centre, was a collaborative effort between ACEM Sabah and Sabah Engineers Association (SEA). Gs. Trudy R. Ganendra shared valuable insights, making the event a success in fostering knowledge exchange and professional development among engineering professionals in Sabah.

LiDAR surveying is increasingly used worldwide for its accurate, cost-effective, and fast acquisition of topographical and imagery data. It provides high-resolution 3D data of large swaths of landscape at rates of dozens of square kilometers per hour, which can then be used to create numerous products useful for various engineering, environmental, natural resources, and infrastructure applications.

This talk highlighted the latest LiDAR technology and how professionals can effectively utilize it. Attended by 24 members, the seminar successfully concluded on August 13, 2024.
