Seminar on Engineered Wood Products 2024: Timber Structure Opportunity and Perspective

The seminar, organized by Perbadanan Kemajuan Perusahaan Kayu Sarawak (PUSAKA), was held on November 27, 2024, at the Grand Magherita Hotel in Kuching. Its objective was to deepen participants’ understanding and application of the legal and regulatory framework governing timber design and construction in Sarawak. The focus included policies, legislation, standards, and achievements from both local and international contexts. The seminar ensured that participants became well-versed in local and international regulations for timber building construction, enhancing their ability to develop high-value wood products, particularly engineered wood, thereby contributing to the growth of Sarawak’s economic resources.

Additionally, the seminar provided a platform for sharing experiences and knowledge regarding the development of engineered wood and the production of Mass Engineered Timber. This initiative aims to sustain and further advance the timber sector in Sarawak.

The guest of honor was The Honourable Datuk Haji Len Talif Salleh, Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration & Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources & Urban Development, Sarawak. Ir. Rudy Zulfika bin Yusof represented ACEM Sarawak and attended the seminar.
