A webinar titled “Insights into Railway Trackwork, Yard Engineering and a Case Study of Perlis Inland Port” was held on 10 December 2025, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon. The session provided 57 participants with practical insights into railway engineering.
The webinar covered key topics on trackwork, turnouts, points and crossings, as well as the functions and design of railway yards and terminals. A highlight of the session was the case study on the Perlis Inland Port (PIP) Spurline and Yard, which discussed project planning, design considerations, value engineering, and key challenges.
The session was presented by Ir. Mathew Philip, a highly experienced professional engineer with extensive involvement in major railway and highway projects in Malaysia. The webinar was well received and concluded successfully.
