On 17 December 2024, a highly informative webinar titled “Passing PAE” was conducted virtually from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., attracting 141 participants, primarily Graduate Engineers preparing to apply for the BEM Outcome-Based Professional Assessment Examination (PAE). The session was designed to leverage the presenter’s extensive experience in interviewing PAE candidates over the past two years for the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM).
The webinar provided a comprehensive introduction to the BEM Outcome-Based PAE, outlining the essential components and expectations of the assessment process. Participants received valuable guidance on preparing the necessary interview documents and navigating the interview process itself. Additionally, the session included a discussion on key themes and keywords relevant to the Code of Conduct Essay, which is a critical component of the PAE.
The session was led by Ir. K. Sundraraj, the Immediate Past President of ACEM and a certified PAE interviewer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM). His insights and expertise offered participants a clearer understanding of the PAE requirements and strategies for success. Overall, the webinar was a significant opportunity for Graduate Engineers to enhance their preparedness for the PAE, fostering professional development and encouraging a deeper understanding of the assessment process.
