The Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) successfully held its 63rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 20 June 2026 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, with members attending both physically and virtually.

The AGM began with an address by ACEM President, Ir. Anuar Mohd Aris, who shared updates on ACEM’s activities, achievements and key initiatives over the past year. He highlighted several important developments, including the implementation of e-Invoicing since October 2025 and the introduction of Sales and Service Tax (SST) for ACEM’s training programmes, seminars and related events.

Ir. Anuar also highlighted the continued importance of the ACEM Directory as a key publication for promoting consulting engineering firms. He shared updates on ACEM’s collaboration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and the organisation of FIDIC training programmes to support professional development.

The President also paid tribute to the late Datuk Ir. Mohd Adnan b Mohd Nor for his valuable contributions to ACEM, including his role in introducing FIDIC initiatives to the Association. Appreciation was also extended to Immediate Past President Ir. Chong Chew Fan for continuing these efforts and his commitment in leading and strengthening the Association.

The AGM proceeded with the presentation of the Council’s Annual Report, audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025, and other matters.

Members also shared their views on key issues affecting the consulting engineering profession, including the HRD Corp levy, PDPA matters, the Scale of Fees (SoF), CDM guidelines, and membership engagement. The Council was requested by Members to continue engaging with relevant stakeholders to address these challenges.

ACEM expressed its appreciation to the outgoing Council Members for their dedicated service and welcomed the newly elected Council Members. The Association looks forward to continuing its efforts in strengthening the consulting engineering profession through collaboration, advocacy and engagement with its members and industry partners.
