ACEM was represented by Ir. Ahmad Masyhur Jahaya at the National Engineering Convention (NEC) 2026 organised by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), where he served as a judge for the inaugural National Engineering Project Excellence Award (NEPEA) 2026.

Following the Majlis Anugerah Kejuruteraan dan Penghargaan LJM 2026, held on 23 August 2026 at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur, BEM later organised a dedicated appreciation session for the judges on 28 September 2026 at BEM Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur. The session was held to acknowledge the role and contribution of the judging panel throughout the BEM Awards 2026 evaluation process.

The panel of judges, including ACEM’s representative Ir. Ahmad Masyhur Jahaya, was tasked with assessing entries across three main award categories: the National Engineering Project Excellence Award (NEPEA) 2026, the Special Mention International Engineering Award 2026, and the Anugerah Tokoh Muda Kejuruteraan Negara 2026.

The evaluation process called for a significant commitment of time, technical expertise and careful judgement from each panel member to ensure that assessments were carried out fairly, transparently and professionally. The session also served as a platform to gather feedback and suggestions to help improve future editions of the BEM Awards.

NEPEA 2026 award winners will go on to represent Malaysia at the ASEAN Engineering Awards. The session also highlighted the role of the BEM Awards in recognising engineering excellence nationwide.
