ACEM participated in the Energy Efficiency Symposium themed “Regenerating Cities through Energy Efficiency”, held on 13 October 2026 at ABB Malaysia, Sunway REIT Industrial, Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya. ACEM was represented by Ir. Ahmad Masyhur Jahaya and Ir. Arul Hisham Abdul Rahim.
Organised by Alfa Laval and ABB, the symposium brought together policymakers, city leaders, industry experts and sustainability practitioners to discuss the role of energy efficiency in shaping sustainable, resilient and future-ready cities.
The programme featured expert insights on sustainable cities, a leadership panel titled “Reimagining Urban Cooling for Energy-Efficient and Resilient Cities”, and an industry panel titled “Powering Sustainable Cities: Pathways to Decarbonisation and Energy Efficiency”. Discussions focused on the role of energy efficiency in addressing urban sustainability challenges and supporting decarbonisation efforts.
The topics discussed are relevant to the consulting engineering profession, particularly in the planning and development of energy-efficient infrastructure and sustainable urban environments. Consulting engineers contribute technical expertise to the integration of energy-efficient solutions into buildings, infrastructure and urban systems, supporting efforts to improve resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
ACEM’s participation provided an opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders and gain insights into developments in energy efficiency and sustainable urban development. Such engagement supports the exchange of knowledge and perspectives across the engineering and sustainability sectors.
