The Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) in collaboration with ACEM conducted the FIDIC Contract Introductory Course and FIDIC Claims & Disputes Course via webinar format from 20–23 November and 27–30 November 2025 respectively. BEM has identified these courses as essential knowledge and international best practices for BEM registered ECPs and engineers intending to or already involved in international projects. These courses were substantially funded by BEM as part of its Strategic Plan 2021 – 2025 to enhance engineering services and tap into the global value chain.
A total of 85 participants had registered for the courses. BEM has divided the participants into two groups to fulfil FIDIC’s strict training requirements. This is to enable the Trainer to manage the group comfortably which will ensure the quality of training and that the objectives and learning outcomes are achieved. The webinars were organised in two sessions daily and continued throughout both weeks. The morning session was held from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. while the afternoon session starts from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.
The BEM Registrar, Ir. Dr. Megat Zuhairy bin Megat Tajuddin, delivered the opening remarks for the courses. The programme featured Mr. Trung Nguyen Nam, FIDIC Certified Trainer and Adjudicator, as the main speaker, with Ms. Thao Tong, FIDIC Certified Contract Manager, as the supporting speaker during selected sessions. ACEM’s Immediate Past President, Ir. Chong Chew Fan were in attendance as moderator for all the sessions.
ACEM extends its appreciation to Board of Engineers Malaysia for this initiative to support the consulting engineering industry.
