The joint seminar by ACEM Sabah and IEM Sabah, titled “The Use of Bamboo Geotextile Composite System in Soft Ground Engineering,” was successfully held on 9 January 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, with 25 participants in attendance. The session, led by Dr Tioh Ngee Heng and Ir. Lee Keh Seng, presented the challenges of construction on deep soft ground and explored approaches including the Bamboo Geotextile Composite System, which has been applied in projects on mangrove, peat, and marine clay.
