The ACEM (Sarawak Branch) was invited by the Ministry of Utility and Telecommunication Sarawak (MUTS) to attend the meeting, chaired by Mr. Syed Mohamad Fauzi Shahab, Deputy Permanent Secretary/ BOE Chairman) from MUTS. The Meeting was held on 27th June 2024 at MUTS, Menara LCDA, Kuching. The meeting was attended by Mr. Chan Seng Yu (BOE Deputy Chairman/Acting Director of Telecommunication Division) MUTS, Mr. Kasvenda bin Kassim (BOE Secretary/Director of Gas Distribution Division) MUTS, Ir. Wong Sie Ung (ACEMSWK), Ir. Ts. Julian Jues (PETROS), Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohammad Shahril bin Osman (UTS), Mr. Solomon (MUTS Engineer), Mr. Azeesul (MUTS Engineer Assistant) and Mr. Elderie Lexzery Anak Ujok (MUTS). The meeting covered various topics, including registration of Gas Contractors, Gas Competent Persons, Official Stamp for Gas Competent Persons and the establishment of three committees under the BOE: Subcommittee of Syllabus & Accreditation, Subcommittee of Industry Affairs and Subcommittee of Interview Panels.
