On 14 May 2025, a webinar titled “Unlocking Value: The Role of Value Management in Optimizing Projects” took place on the Zoom platform. Ir. Kalai Chelvan Arumugam was the speaker for the seminar. He is a registered Professional Engineer and Certified Value Manager with over 30 years of experience. The webinar introduced Value Management (VM) as a methodical and strategic approach to enhance value and optimize costs in projects, programs, facilities, products, and services. The speaker explained that VM is not just about cutting costs but also about engaging stakeholders in a collaborative and creative process to achieve the best results. He discussed the current developments and requirements of VM in Malaysia and focused on its application in both government and private sector projects. The session also provided an overview of VM’s core principles and included practical examples to help the participants understand its unique characteristics. A total of 75 participants attended the webinar. The event ran smoothly, and the participants gained valuable insights into the importance and benefits of Value Management in project optimization.
