A joint seminar organised by the Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) Sabah Branch and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Sabah Branch on “Deep Foundation Design in Sabah: Principles, Best Practices & Case Studies” was successfully held on 1 October 2025 at Hotel N°5, Kota Kinabalu. The event recorded the participation of 54 attendees.

The session, led by Dr. Andrew Lim Chung Han, focused on Sabah’s unique geological challenges and covered topics such as bored piles, driven piles, and micropiles, as well as seismic and soil considerations. Participants gained valuable insights from real project case studies and shared practical approaches to foundation design within the region.
