The Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (ACEM) successfully organised a webinar titled “Wastewater Treatments Towards Water Reuse” on 22 October 2025 (Wednesday) via Zoom. The two-hour session, held from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon, attracted 120 participants.

The webinar discussed key challenges in wastewater treatment, focusing on energy efficiency and maintenance costs. Participants were introduced to treatment systems designed with low energy consumption and reduced operational requirements. The session also highlighted the importance of water reuse through the removal of nutrients and recalcitrant organic compounds, aiming to lower polishing costs and prevent pipe fouling.

The session was conducted by Prof. Dr. Rakmi binti Abd. Rahman, who shared her expertise and insights in wastewater and environmental engineering.

The informative session provided valuable knowledge on sustainable wastewater management and practical approaches to achieving efficient water reuse — supporting efforts to promote environmental sustainability within the engineering sector.
