ACEM continued its professional development efforts through the Site Supervision Course (SSC) – Mechanical Discipline Module, held from 11 April to 16 May 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
First introduced in 2016, the SSC was developed to support the training and competency of Inspectors-of-Works (IOWs) and Site Supervisors, who play an important role as the Consulting Engineers’ representatives on site. The course also helps IOWs meet their CPD requirements, while providing useful technical exposure for Engineers and Technologists.
The 2026 SSC Mechanical webinar series featured experienced speakers from the industry. Ir. Au Chong Hun delivered the sessions on 11 April and 18 April 2026, sharing insights on air-conditioning systems, ventilation and smoke control in various developments, including high-rise buildings, offices, and residential projects. Ir. Wong See Foong spoke on 25 April 2026, contributing valuable knowledge from his extensive background in fire safety engineering. The sessions on 9 May and 16 May 2026 were presented by Ir. Dr. N. Jayaseelan, who shared his expertise in the design of cold water and sanitary plumbing, vertical transportation and gas distribution.
The webinar series provided participants with practical knowledge and strengthened their understanding of site supervision practices within the mechanical engineering discipline.
